Controller
The data controller is Pet-Hygge, established in Bulgaria. We operate the Pet Hygge storefront at pet-hygge.com. For privacy requests email support@pet-hygge.com.
Country of establishment: Bulgaria.
What data we collect
- Account details if you register: name, email, and a hashed password held by Shopify customer accounts
- Order details: name, email, shipping address, phone if you provide it, items, and payment status
- Messages you send through the contact form (name, email, topic, message)
- Newsletter email if you subscribe and accept the privacy policy
- Technical data needed to run the shop: IP address for security and rate limiting, browser type, and cookies as described in our cookie policy
Processors and tools
We use specialist providers to run the store. They process data on our instructions:
- Stripe — card payments and checkout sessions
- Brevo — transactional email and the newsletter list
- Shopify — product catalogue and customer accounts
- Hosting for this website (including our CDN / application host)
We do not sell your personal information.
Why we use your data
- To take payment, fulfil orders, and deliver them
- To send order, shipping, and customer-care messages
- To answer contact-form and warranty requests
- Analytics and marketing cookies only after you opt in — see cookies
Legal bases under GDPR include contract (orders and accounts), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, basic shop operations), consent (newsletter and optional cookies), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
Retention
Order and invoice data is kept as long as Bulgarian accounting and consumer-law rules require. Contact messages are kept long enough to resolve your request and for a reasonable follow-up period. Newsletter contacts stay until you unsubscribe. Cookie choices are stored for up to one year or until you change them.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Email support@pet-hygge.com and we will respond within the time GDPR requires. You may also lodge a complaint with the Commission for Personal Data Protection in Bulgaria or your local EU supervisory authority.
International transfers
Some processors (for example Stripe or Shopify) may process data outside the EEA. They rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
